In 2013, David was invited to visit Japan to make two documentaries for national broadcaster NHK TV’s English language Tomorrow program. The first was about how communities were rebuilding following the massive earthquake and tsunami of March, 2011. The other focused on harnessing traditional and modern technology to make buildings more resilient.
